Transfers between locations

Move goods between warehouses, vans and sites, with confirmation at the destination.

Reviewed 2026-09-05

In short

  • A transfer moves goods between locations, not between people. The destination must accept.
  • It works both ways: I send to you, or I ask for yours.
  • While it is on the road the goods are „in transit" and cannot be handed to anyone.

A transfer, not a handover

The handover in chapter 04 moves a tool to a person. A transfer moves it to a place: from a warehouse to a site, from one van to another, from one place of work to the next.

The difference that matters: a handover happens face to face, so it is signed on the spot. A transfer leaves one end and arrives at the other, possibly a day later — so it has a step where the destination accepts. Nothing lands in anyone's holdings without them confirming it.Plus

The two directions

1

Send — push

The source location's supervisor picks the goods and the destination, and signs. It appears at the destination under incoming, to accept or refuse.

2

Ask — pull

From the record of an item held elsewhere, you request it. You sign nothing at this step: nobody has given you anything yet. The request reaches the supervisor of the location holding the goods.

What happens to the goods meanwhile

If the destination refuses, everything returns to its previous state at the source location. Nothing is left stuck.

Containers and sets

When you transfer a container or a set, its children go with it, at every level, and appear as separate lines on the dispatch note. You do not select them by hand and it cannot be switched off.

The reason is the one from chapter 03: without it, the parts would stay in the warehouse on paper while the box is on site. It is not a feature that is sold — it is the condition for the records being true.

Step by step

On the phone

1

Choose what leaves

From the source location: tick the tools, and give quantities for consumables and materials. One transfer can mix every type.

2

Choose the destination and sign

Any other location of the company. The sender's signature is given now.

3

The destination accepts

The supervisor there sees the request under transfers — or on the banner on the home screen — opens it, checks the list and signs on receipt.

4

The dispatch note remains

The transfer record, with both signatures and every line, is downloaded from the completed transfer.

In the console

The Transferuri tab under Locații & Flotă, or the standalone page. Status filters show what is pending, what was requested, what completed and what was cancelled.

Inițiază transfer automatically excludes what cannot leave: items allocated to an employee, items in service, items already in transit, and components that travel with their parent anyway.

What differs

The console shows state better — filters, history, dispatch notes to download. The phone is where a transfer is actually accepted, because that is where the person unloading the van is.

One thing to remember: in the console, starting a transfer requires the sender's signature, just as on the phone. Here it is not optional, unlike a handover to an employee in chapter 04.

Next

Chapter 10 covers consumables and materials in detail: allocation by quantity, three kinds of return, and restocking. The background to moving between places of work is in the guide on transferring tools between sites.
