Maintenance and service
Track faults and find out which tools cost more than they are worth.

In short
- A tool has five states: functional, broken, repaired, scrapped, missing.
- Sending for service has two ends: it leaves with a reason, it comes back with a cost.
- The app flags tools that cost more than they are worth, on its own.
The five states
- Functional — can be handed over and used.
- Broken — reported faulty, out of circulation.
- Repaired — back from service and working.
- Scrapped — out of use for good, but kept in the history.
- Missing — not found. The state a stocktake sets, from chapter 13.
The state is not a decorative label: a broken or missing tool does not enter handovers and cannot leave on a transfer, exactly like an item already with somebody.
The service flow
A repair has two ends, and the value of the records comes from the second — the one everybody skips when keeping count on paper.Plus
You send it
Choose the service provider, the date sent, the fault category and a description. The tool leaves circulation.
You receive it
On return you fill in the repair cost, the resulting state, the condition and the location it goes back to.
It stays in the history
Every service visit accumulates on the tool: how many times, how many days, how much it cost. That is the material everything below is calculated from.
Scheduled services
A tool can be given a service date and a repeat interval. As the date approaches, the tool enters the due-service list and a notification goes out — at 09:00, together with the overdue alerts from chapter 06.Pro
Once done it is marked complete and, if it has an interval, the next one is scheduled automatically.
Tools that cost more than they are worth
From the service history, the app flags problem assets. Three criteria, checked independently:Pro
In service too often
At least 3 visits in the last 6 months.
Broken for too long
More days spent in service than half the life of the asset since it entered the records.
Too expensive to repair
Cumulative repairs have reached 70% of the tool's value.
Each lit criterion is a signal; severity is how many are lit. A tool with all three is not a tool to repair, it is a tool to replace — and the scrap recommendation appears directly in its panel.

Where you work
On the phone
The cards on the home screen lead to broken tools and to maintenance. A fault is most often reported from the tool's panel, in the field, at the moment somebody brings it back.

In the console
The Mentenanță page, split into four queues: broken, in service, care, service due. Each is a filtered list with a PDF export.
The analysis tab adds aggregates over the service history: fault distribution, average turnaround per provider, repair-versus-scrap ratio.Pro
What differs
The phone is where a fault is found; the console is where you read what it means. Provider analysis and the problem-asset detector need a large screen and history — they are not things you consult in a warehouse.
